Erika Alexander, legal eagle Max from Living Single is the latest superstar to join Tracy Morgan and Tina Fey’s (yet to be titled) NBC pilot. Tracy will be in front of the camera while Tina will serve as one of the executive producers. Also involved behind the scenes as previously reported is Robert Carlock and Sam Means.
Tracy will play a former football baller who is in desperate need of an image reboot. Erika Alexander steps into the role of Monica, Reggie’s (Tracy Morgan) childhood sweetheart from Brooklyn. She also happens to co-parent with him and is also his agent and business manager, despite breaking up.
We reported earlier that Daniel Radcliffe will star as Arthur Tobin, an award-winning filmmaker who moves into Reggie’s mansion to film a documentary. I would never have thought I would see Max and Harry Potter together, but I am so ready for it.
You can catch Erika Alexander on Invasion streaming on AppleTV+ before this pilot drops. Alexander is an accomplished actress with SAG and Independent Spirit Award nominations. She is also no stranger to film; she starred in Cord Jefferson’s American Fiction. In 2023, Alexander also co-starred in the film Earth Mama.
As I mentioned, we love her and know her best for her role as Maxine Shaw in Yvette Lee Bowser’s series Living Single. You would have also noticed her in The Cosby Show, Get Out, Black Lightning and Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
