Time for the fisherman to pull in their rods as Nat Geo has put their show 'Wicked Tuna' on ice.
Disney owns Nat Geo which made the decision to end Wicked Tuna after its thirteenth season. This popular show has been broadcast on the network since 2012 and has garnered a dedicated fan base. It chronicles the adventures of a team of fishermen from Gloucester, Massachusetts, as they engage in the challenging pursuit of bluefin tuna.
Following recent layoffs within Disney Entertainment Television, Nat Geo has been affected with approximately 13% of its staff being cut.
In a social media post, Nat Geo expressed that the series highlighted a longstanding American industry and transformed brave commercial fishermen in the North Atlantic into internationally renowned figures by capturing the elusive bluefin tuna.
