Opens at CPT Cromwell’s swim party for the cops of the precinct and their families.  Michael Ormewood is there with his two kids having fun when shots ring out in the street.  Everyone is rushed to safety. Outside two of their own cops are shot.  Next, Mandy (Amanda Wagner) holds a press conference on the happenings.  Special Agent Faith Mitchell briefs the press.

Faith organizes the investigation and needs to stop a gang war.  Next, they are at a suspect’s house, Mr. Raphael Wexler, and police are at a standstill.  Mr. Wexler demands to see Will Trent. Out of state, Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, we see Will and Betty Maria Trent, chilling.  They go on a walk seemingly, but Will is doing private investigator work.  Two other townspeople stop by and interrupt him.  Mandy surprises Will and finds him in Soddy-Daisy.  They argue. She asks him for help, and he tells her why he left.Back in Georgia, Angie Polaski is working as a security guard, in a gated community.  She drives up in a golf cart to stop an argument between two of the residents.  James Ulster, her sponsor, stops by her office to check on her, remind her of her hearing and tell her Will’s returning. Will and Betty return to Atlanta and drive up to Mr. Wexler’s house.  He sees Faith his old GBI partner.  Will refuses to suit up and goes in to see Wexler.  Will and Wexler were friends before, but now have a fight.  Faith and Ormewood watch from outside wondering what’s happening inside.

Grandma Wexler breaks up the fight inside.   Raphael and Will talk after she falls asleep. Will goes outside and tells Faith and Mandy Raphael didn’t shoot the cops.  He leaves with Betty to find out who did.  Returning to the precinct, he discovers Faith took his old office.  She throws a stapler at him and chastises him for not letting them know where he was. Michael and Faith do surveillance for her CI.   They are good together.  Back at the police precinct, Will gets to know Faith’s new partner, Agent Gross (Lurch), a new character.  Will has a cell app that helps him with his dyslexia.  He goes to follow a lead while Faith talks to her CI.  Meanwhile Ormewood follows some suspicious people in the back of the club.  Faith gives her CI some golf pointers and he gives her some information.

She also shows him why he needs to keep his hands to himself.Meanwhile, across town, Will and Betty find an abandoned car of a possible suspect and is taken by surprise.  The person wasn’t a suspect, just had his car stolen. Back at the precinct Faith and Will talk about the case.Michael and Chester’s widow, Cindy, argue in the precinct hallway.  Turns out Chester has a second family.  Michael goes to see Angie about Chester. Will goes home and Nikko has changed things.  She is happy to see Betty, not so happy to see Will.  He sits and sadly remembers happier times with Angie. Next day in the conference office, everyone sits brainstorming until Mandy tells them she needs an update.  Lurch found Chester’s burner phone in his locker.

He found meeting information on it, and Will went to follow-up the lead.  The meeting place is a restaurant, and as Will uses his cell app to read the menu, a woman walks in talking on her cell.  They have an awkward interaction.  Enter another new character, Marion Alba.  Will tells her he’s there for Chester.  Will breaks down and tells her his whole life story and asks her to give a reason why Chester contacted her.  While at the restaurant, a news story shows Raphael arrested for the death of the two police officers.  Will goes to see him.  Will knows Raphael is innocent. Will returns to the precinct conference room where Mandy, Faith, Marion Alba and Michael are watching the mayor’s press conference.  Mandy asks Marion if Chester wanted to blow the whistle on dirty cops.  They found some evidence that led to that.  He asks her to leave the case open.  Faith and Will go to Raphael’s home to look for evidence.  Faith is glad Will’s back.  She found Raphael’s laptop, and they find the reason why Raphael confessed.  His daughter was kidnapped!

WILL TRENT – “I’m a Guest Here” – (Disney/Daniel Delgado Jr.) JAKE MCLAUGHLIN, IANTHA RICHARDSON

It was a great fast-paced episode that had many subplots that tied together.  Had real mystery, new characters and uncertain status of old ones.  Character development is also happening with old characters, both Faith and Michael.  This new season answers questions of Season 2.  Season 3 is off to a galloping Great Start!

James Ulster is not Angie's sponsor. He was the serial killer. Angie's sponsor is Franklin if I'm not mistaken.
