Young and the Restless Daily Recap 1/13

Adam joined Chelsea and Connor at Crimson Lights, expressing he’d arrived as quickly as possible. Before Chelsea could explain, Connor cut her off and said he wanted to be the one to tell his dad. He confessed that he hadn’t been able to sleep for the past few nights because of the light switch in his room at Chelsea’s place. Chelsea clarified that it was a two-way switch, and Connor explained that he liked the light switch to be up during the day and down at night. He had been getting up every 15 minutes to check it.

Adam immediately wished Connor had come to him sooner, so he could have arranged for the switch to be removed, but he quickly apologized for making it about himself. Connor reassured them he hadn’t been contemplating self-harm. Chelsea explained that they had already discussed how important it was for Connor to talk to them, so they could understand what he was going through. Connor hesitated, admitting that he hadn’t spoken up sooner because he didn’t want to add to his parents' problems, but both Chelsea and Adam made it clear that they would always prioritize him.

Adam asked if Connor was using the tools he’d learned to manage his OCD. Connor shared that he’d eventually stopped checking the switch and managed to sleep, planning to see his doctor about possibly adjusting his medication. Adam acknowledged that Connor would need to manage his condition for life but felt confident that he had it under control. Chelsea agreed, but emphasized that Connor wouldn’t have to face it alone. When Adam asked if something specific had triggered the episode, Connor reluctantly admitted it was his dad’s upcoming move.

Although Adam thought Connor might be excited about spending more time at the ranch, Connor was worried about adjusting to a new bedroom, especially one without the two-way switch. Adam offered to ensure that the new room would suit him, while Chelsea reassured Connor that it was normal to feel uneasy in a new space. They promised to make sure he was safe and comfortable. Connor expressed his concerns about feeling isolated in the large house, but both Adam and Chelsea reminded him there would be plenty of people around, including family and staff. Adam even offered to cancel the move if it would help Connor feel more secure.

Connor revealed that part of the reason he hadn’t spoken up was because he felt like he had to push through the discomfort, thanks to exposure therapy. Chelsea suggested that making things easier for him wasn’t wrong. Connor compared the situation to a hockey game where, despite feeling exhausted, he pushed through and became stronger. Adam and Chelsea pledged to support whatever decision Connor made. Connor then hesitantly suggested that moving to the ranch would be easier if Chelsea moved in too. He clarified that it wasn’t about trying to get his parents back together, but rather having his mom nearby if his OCD flared up.

Chelsea struggled with the request, and Adam explained they needed to discuss it before making any decisions. After Connor headed upstairs, Chelsea thanked Adam for stepping in but cautioned him against using their son’s anxiety to pressure her into moving in. Adam assured her that he was committed to putting Connor’s needs first, and he wasn’t suggesting they get back together romantically. He reasoned that having Chelsea nearby would help Connor feel more secure in such a large space. Chelsea agreed to think about it, but made it clear she wasn’t ready to commit. Adam expressed confidence that she would do what was best for Connor, and he respected whatever choice she made. Chelsea reiterated that if she agreed, it wouldn’t be a step toward reconciliation.

At Society, Kyle met Claire and thanked her for joining him. Claire said she’d always say yes to spending time with him. Kyle explained that he’d told his parents that things were getting more serious between them, and Jack and Diane had advised him to talk to Harrison about it sooner rather than later. Kyle expressed concern about how Harrison might feel, but Claire encouraged him to be honest. They shared a kiss, but their conversation was interrupted when they arrived at the Abbott mansion.

Harrison eagerly hugged Kyle and Claire, and Summer explained that she’d left work early to spend time with him. She then excused herself, hinting at an impending conversation Kyle and Claire needed to have with Harrison. Kyle reassured Summer that she didn’t need to stay. Once alone with Harrison, Kyle and Claire told him that they were getting closer, and Harrison seemed happy for them. He also expressed some concern that Summer wasn’t as comfortable with the situation, but Claire gently explained that it could be hard for people to see someone they had been involved with moving on. Harrison innocently asked if Kyle and Claire were getting married, and Kyle clarified that they weren’t at that stage yet. They continued their conversation, but Harrison’s memory of Kyle and Claire spending New Year’s together left them blushing.

Later, as Claire helped Harrison with his reading, she remarked how sweet it was that he’d asked both Kyle and her to tuck him in. Kyle expressed how much Harrison meant to him, and Claire agreed. The three of them bonded, but Kyle and Claire both knew that convincing Summer to approve of their relationship would take time.

At Society, Summer met with Chance for the first time since their break. She admitted she wasn’t completely “there” but didn’t want to ruin their date. Chance noticed she seemed off and pressed her to talk about it. Summer shared her frustration with Claire’s involvement in Kyle and Harrison’s lives and explained how she felt excluded from the family discussion. Chance pointed out that it was natural for people to move on after a divorce, but Summer still struggled with seeing Claire in that role.

Elsewhere, Nate and Audra returned from Los Angeles, with Audra joking about the bumpy flight. Nate shared his disappointment about leaving without resolution with Damian, but Audra reassured him that it was up to Damian to decide how to proceed. Nate hoped Damian would be more open to him, and Audra empathized with his desire for a relationship with his brother.

As they settled in, the couple enjoyed some downtime, with Nate offering Audra a drink and a foot rub. Their conversation turned to family, and Nate shared how much he wanted to connect with Damian. Later, after some passionate moments, Nate received a message from Damian, confirming he was on his way to Genoa City to meet with Nate’s family. Audra was thrilled for him.

However, things took a darker turn when Nate received further messages from Denise, revealing a startling connection between the companies owned by both Dangler Properties and Monte Cristo Investments. The silent owner was revealed to be none other than Damian himself.
