At the Abbott mansion, Jack is surprised to find Diane planning some big changes for the house, including Moroccan poofs and floor cushions. He thinks she’s just trying to get a reaction out of him, but Diane insists he shouldn’t take it too seriously. Jack was hoping for some design plans first, but Diane says that will have to wait until he’s less resistant to change. Jack defends the house’s current charm, and Diane jokes it’s been that way for decades. Jack worries she might go too minimalist, and Diane teases her own idea of avocado green. She wants him to trust her, promising he won’t be disappointed. After some back-and-forth, Jack admits he was just testing her, and though avocado green isn’t his style, he’s open to making changes that will breathe new life into the house. Diane assures him it’ll only be small tweaks, but she surprises him by announcing it’s time to pack for a vacation while the house gets refreshed. Jack suggests waiting until summer to go to Italy, but Diane reveals the design plans are already in motion. Jack is hesitant but agrees to pack.
At Chancellor Park, Kyle meets Claire, who seems concerned after he backed out of dinner plans. She’s not upset about Harrison or Summer being there, but it’s because of his text response to her rescheduling suggestion. Kyle tries to explain it was a joke, but Claire is disappointed. She wants her grandfather’s approval and hopes for a miracle, but Kyle doubts Victor will ever accept him. Claire believes they can meet halfway, but Kyle remains skeptical. She assures him she won’t walk away from him if Victor doesn’t approve. Kyle apologizes again for upsetting her, and they agree to try dinner with Victor. Kyle’s still unsure, but Claire is determined.
At Society, Lily smiles at her phone when Victor arrives. He asks if she’s happy to be working with her family, and Lily responds that she’s glad to be away from his toxic empire. Nikki joins Victor and tries to smooth things over with Lily, but Lily is firm. She’s happy working with her family, where she feels respected and honest. She can’t forgive Nikki for how she was used. Victor walks off to a table, and Nikki expresses regret but says Lily made her own choices. Lily then asks Victor for help with someone named Damian Kane. She needs information, no questions asked, and Victor agrees to help. After she leaves, Nikki comments on how things are thawing between them, though they wonder who Damian is.
Claire rushes in with some papers for Nikki to sign, and Victor praises her for her efficiency. Claire asks if they can all have dinner together, and Victor agrees, though he’s skeptical about Kyle. Claire insists Kyle is important to her and needs Victor’s blessing. Victor reluctantly agrees but insists it will be later. Claire invites Nikki too, and Victor grudgingly agrees. Claire believes everything will go well.
At Crimson Lights, Audra and Holden discuss their past and the need to keep it a secret from Nate. Nate interrupts, asking about Damian’s reaction to the news about his mother. Holden says it was news about his father that hit Damian hardest. Nate believes Amy wants to fix things, but Holden insists they’re done with Genoa City and Damian’s relationship with his mother is over. Nate doesn’t want that to be the end and insists Amy deserves forgiveness. Audra warns that pushing for it might cause more pain. Nate leaves a message for Damian, asking for another chance to convince him to stay, though Audra seems worried.
Back at the Abbott mansion, Jack and Diane bring their luggage down, and she reassures him it’s just to get out of the way while her team works. Jack wants to see the plans, but Diane knows he’ll focus on the small details. She reminds him the house is a place of memories, and the love will always remain, no matter what changes are made. Jack tears up, touched by her words. Diane suggests they have a romantic getaway at the club, and they share a kiss. Kyle teases Jack about the design plans, making him nervous, but Diane reassures Jack he’ll love the changes. After a deep breath, Jack exits. Claire calls Kyle to tell him her grandfather agreed to dinner. Kyle isn’t thrilled, but Claire insists he’ll enjoy it. He mutters to himself, “Into the lion’s den.”
At Crimson Lights, Lily joins Nate and Audra, who discuss Damian’s plans to leave. Nate doesn’t want Amy to lose her chance to say goodbye to her family, but Audra and Lily remind him he has to accept it. Nate believes as long as Damian is still in Genoa City, there’s hope for reconciliation. Audra slips away to make a call as Holden returns. He begs her to meet him later for one last drink before he leaves, but she refuses.
