At the hotel, Diane proposed to Jack that they escape for more romantic getaways. She was craving crab empanadas, so they got out of bed to get ready for dinner.
At Society, Claire and Victor’s conversation turned tense when Nikki arrived. Claire asked Victor why he thought her relationship with Kyle would cause trouble. Victor was adamant that Kyle wasn’t the right man for her. “I stand by every word I said. There will be trouble,” Victor warned Claire, insisting he was only trying to protect her. Kyle, growing frustrated, questioned why Victor was so certain. He suggested that if Victor thought trouble was inevitable, it might be because he planned to cause it himself.
Nikki joined in, criticizing Victor’s obsession with Jack and Diane’s marriage, and Kyle pointed out that Victor’s issues seemed more about his feelings toward Jack than any real concern for Claire. Victor’s bitterness toward Kyle grew sharper. “You broke Summer’s heart. You’re not going to do the same to Claire,” he growled, but Kyle pushed back, assuring Victor that his relationship with Summer was strong and stable now.
Victor continued to warn that Kyle would hurt Claire, but she was unshaken. Claire told Victor that no one, not even him, would scare her away from Kyle. Victor left, passing Jack and Diane in the process. The tension was palpable, and Diane teased Victor about being upset that Jack had outsmarted him with the Glissade shares. Jack, clearly bothered, wondered if Claire would be scared off by Victor’s words, but Claire reassured him that she was firm in her decision to be with Kyle.
Meanwhile, across the restaurant, Daniel grew frustrated with Summer’s focus on Kyle. He pushed her to leave, and when Summer denied being jealous, Daniel called her bluff. They decided to head to the Athletic Club for dinner instead, but Daniel’s mind was elsewhere. He tried to reach Phyllis but couldn’t get through. Summer suggested Phyllis might be in Paris with Billy, but Daniel wasn’t buying it. He admitted to feeling uncomfortable with the lack of communication from their mother. Summer insisted they wait until morning to worry, but Daniel couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
The conversation shifted to Summer’s relationship with Chance, and Daniel pushed her to admit that things weren’t perfect. Summer defended Chance, but she also acknowledged that their connection had been strained. Daniel encouraged her to focus on what she wanted, but Summer grew defensive, accusing him of obsessing over Kyle and Claire. Their conversation became heated, but in the end, Summer chose to skip dinner and return to work, suggesting they avoid Kyle-related topics moving forward.
At the jazz club, Michael and Lauren discussed Victor’s relentless pursuit of the Abbotts’ happiness. Michael confessed that Victor was plotting something nasty, and Lauren reminded him that she had warned him about working for Victor. She pressed him about the night Victor was shot by Ian, and Michael shared the harrowing details. Lauren was devastated to learn how close Michael had come to death and struggled to understand why he stayed in danger. Michael explained that his bond with Victor, despite their differences, kept him there.
Lauren was emotional, fearing the loss of Michael, but Michael reassured her that he was at peace with his decisions. He expressed that he considered Victor family, even though he didn’t always agree with him. Michael hoped to change the subject, so they decided to retreat to a hotel room for some much-needed time together. However, as they began to unwind, Michael’s phone rang. It was Victor, and Michael paused before putting the phone down. He and Lauren shared a quiet moment together.
Back at the ranch, Victor poured himself a drink and made a call to Michael. When Michael didn’t answer, Victor left a message requesting information on Jabot’s future plans.
