Jack and Diane are happy to see the Abbott family back in a good place and agree that Claire and Kyle are a great match. Jack is concerned that Victor might try to interfere as they grow closer. Diane shares his concerns but wonders what they can do about it. Jack believes they need to find a way to protect them from Victor’s influence. Diane agrees but reminds him that Claire and Kyle are adults and should be allowed to handle things on their own. She doesn’t want Jack getting involved in another battle with Victor. She also points out that Jack disregarded Victor’s warnings about his relationship with Nikki. Jack takes this as a jab at him but Diane clarifies that she’s only making a point. They respect each other’s relationships and decide to change the subject. Diane suggests refreshing the Abbott Mansion, but Jack remembers Gloria’s previous attempt at redesigning the house, which didn’t turn out well. Diane hopes her taste is better than Gloria’s and offers to help with the update. Jack appreciates her enthusiasm but admits the house holds sentimental value, though he’s open to considering the idea.
Kyle and Claire spend some time together in Chancellor Park. Claire is happy to see Kyle reconnecting with his family, and Kyle credits much of the success to her. Meanwhile, Audra and Amy discuss job opportunities over lunch. Audra has a second interview scheduled and may need to cut their lunch short, but Amy suddenly feels lightheaded. Amy insists Audra should go ahead with the interview, but Audra refuses and takes Amy somewhere to rest.
At Crimson Lights, Nate and Holden meet. Holden asks Nate how he knows Amy, and Nikki enters, prompting Nate to introduce her to Holden as “Damian.” Nikki welcomes him to town before heading inside. Nate explains that Amy worked for his father, and Holden pushes for more details. Nate suggests Holden speak directly with Amy, but Holden insists he only wants answers from Nate. Their conversation is cut short when Nate receives a text from Audra, urging him to come home because something is wrong with Amy. Nate quickly leaves, and Damian enters, asking about Nate’s sudden departure.
Nikki runs into Kyle and Claire, and Kyle proudly shares that Claire is practically an honorary Abbott now, but Nikki looks concerned. Claire senses something’s off and wonders if Victor is unhappy about their relationship. Nikki admits that Ian and Jordan have made Victor more protective, but Claire is determined not to let Victor control her life and asks Nikki for help. Nikki tells her it’ll be a tough sell, as she’s tried and failed to make peace with Victor regarding Jack. However, both she and Victor want Claire to be happy.
Back at Nate’s apartment, Amy insists she’s fine despite feeling unwell and tells Audra that she’s dealt with similar episodes before. Audra still urges her to see a doctor, and although Amy is frustrated that Audra contacted Nate, she reassures her that she’s not a burden. Amy expresses that she knows her time is limited, but Audra encourages her to keep fighting. Nate arrives and insists Amy go to the hospital, but she refuses. He offers her his guest bedroom so she’s not alone. Amy asks about Nate’s meeting with Damian, and Nate gives her some details. Audra reminds Amy that she lied to protect her son, and Amy acknowledges that she did so for her own reasons. Nate suggests they meet Damian together to clear things up, and Amy reluctantly agrees.
At Crimson Lights, Kyle and Claire share stories of Jack and John with Nikki before Kyle steps outside to take a call. Nikki senses how close Claire and Kyle have become. Claire wonders if Victor is unhappy about their relationship, but Nikki reassures her that Victor’s protectiveness stems from his issues with Ian and Jordan. Nikki suggests Claire emphasize how happy Kyle makes her and how caring and protective he is when speaking to Victor. She hopes it might help change his mind. Kyle returns, and Nikki heads back to the office, leaving Claire to bring up the idea of dinner with Victor to Kyle.
Holden receives a call from Nate and puts it on speaker so Damian can hear. Nate invites Damian to his apartment and promises to tell him everything about his mother. Holden arrives, and Nate welcomes him in. Audra leaves to give them privacy. Holden demands the truth Nate promised him. Nate apologizes before calling for Amy. When she comes downstairs, she demands to know who Holden is.
